The Trade that Made a Difference

The interior is amazing.  The exterior is pristine.  The custom pin striping and hand painted designs are so very unique.  Did I mention that it is still driven on a regular basis?

Jim and Carol Long purchased a 1932 Ford Coupe in the hopes of having a great collector car to drive around town and on cross country trips.  Long drives in this national award winning '32 Coupe were not as comfortable as they hoped.  Carol soon realized there had to be another car out there that would fill the purpose that the Coupe was not accomplishing.

They traded the Coupe for a beautiful 1956 Ford Customline.  The seller purchased the Barrett Jackson vehicle in California before having the ostrich accented interior restored.  The Long's test drive was during the ride home following the Fall Goodguys Show at the Texas Motor Speedway. They made a great trade!

Jim began his part of the restoration by having it painted, fine tuning the engine and adding new custom air.  Jim worked so much under the car that Carol was afraid the car would fall off the jack stands.  She kept on him until he purchased a scissor lift for their garage.  That's a nice upgrade.  The lift then allowed Jim to completely restore the underside of the car.

Pin striping was completed by a well known artist out of Weatherford, TX.  The Customline has become known as "Betty Boop" so Jim had the artist include a freehand painting of the famous Betty Boop on the trunk.

This '56 has earned several awards including Best Interior at this year's Yellow Rose Classic Car Show in Arlington, TX.  Jim and Carol are an amazing couple that really seem to love this car.  They have a once-in-a-lifetime road trip planned for the Fall where they will truly enjoy this unique and fantastically restored collector car.

Jim and Carol are some of the nicest people around.  Our company works hard to be a leader in the appraisal industry.  It is our goal to keep meeting new car owners and hearing their stories, giving them professional support, and helping them protect their investments.  Our appraisals speak for themselves.  Our North Texas office has the best team around and is ready to document your vehicle.
